Akka Anna day celebration – Together we make our school!
The motto of Chettinad Vidya Mandir is “Vasudeva KuTumbakum” – The world is one family.
Taking this tradition forward, the students celebrated Akka Anna day to express their gratitude to all the akkas and annas in making the school a safe place for all of us. It is one of the many distinctive and meaningful events organised at CVM. CVM believes that encouraging the children to embrace an ‘attitude of gratitude’ is one of the valuable and most important lessons that can be demonstrated. It was an exciting moment for the children to celebrate the people who keep the school a clean, healthy and happy. Children were excited to perform to tunes, acknowledge Akkas and Annas for their love, care, and support all through the time.
Henri Federic Amiel states,
Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude.
Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness.
Thankfulness may consist merely of words.
Gratitude is shown in acts.
Children enjoyed the experience of bringing food from home and serving the akkas and annas. The children loved spending quality time with them and could understand how unsustainable the school environment could be if the akkas and annas weren’t around. Akkas and Annas were overwhelmed with joy. This day was a testimony of oneness within the school community.
