What is ‘QualityTime?
Quality time is the time that we spend with our children giving them our undivided attention. This time is not defined by the duration, rather the quality of the time that is spent together.
Why is Quality Time Essential for Children?
At home or in school, children crave attention, love, and care. It has been seen that children who spend a lot of quality time with their parents are mentally and emotionally stable.
The advantages of spending quality time with your children:
1. Healthy Mindset: Children who spend a lot of time with their parents are less likely to encounter behavioral problems in the family and school. They probably have fewer fights, and if you think you are loved and valued, family fighting would be less severe.
Happy and well-adjusted children are less likely to encounter disobedience issues at school. When they have a good time with their friends, children are much less likely to partake in risky behavior, including substance use.
2. Emotional Control: Children must feel cherished and well taken care of. Parents must be genuinely present in their children’s lives, and spending quality time with them is the best way to do that. Children tend to be mentally and emotionally healthy people when they are showered with love and affection daily.

3. Health Physics: Studies have shown that spending time with our children can also improve physical health. Research in the journal ‘Pediatrics’ found that low-quality relationships between mother and child in early childhood, have resulted in a 2.45-fold increase in the child’s risk of obesity.
Family mealtimes are excellent times to bond and it also helps to maintain our children’s health. Eating together would discourage our children from having too much candy or eating bad food at home.
Family meals help in maintaining our children’s health. It’s a perfect way to put family time together and show our children the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Children can participate in cooking dinner, setting the table, and serving the family members.
The quality time the entire family spends doing a particular activity keeps the family closely knitted. Children feel secure and they do not grow as anxious adults. It is our responsibility to make sure that we spend a good time with our children so that they become well-adjusted individuals.
